Dewan Filharmonik Petronas

So, why host the royal concert here some of you may be asking:

Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) is a distinguished concert hall in Malaysia, celebrated for its commitment to classical music. Situated at the iconic PETRONAS Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, DFP was officially inaugurated on August 17, 1998. It's known for its exceptional architectural design by Cesar Pelli, drawing inspiration from the traditional shoe-box shape of European concert halls from the 19th century.

The hall features the magnificent Klais Pipe Organ as a striking backdrop to the stage and can accommodate up to 920 people, including box seats, corporate suites, and a royal suite. Its acoustics, carefully crafted by Kirkegaard & Associates, are renowned for their superior quality, making DFP a key player in Kuala Lumpur's and Malaysia's musical and cultural landscape.

DFP has hosted a plethora of celebrated artists, both local, like Siti Nurhaliza and M Nasir, and international stars such as Diana Krall and Harry Connick Jr. It has also been graced by world-renowned orchestras including the New York Philharmonic and Vienna Symphony. Beyond classical music, DFP has embraced a range of genres, presenting jazz and world music ensembles, thus becoming a "must-visit" destination for music enthusiasts.

Its strategic location within Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) further enhances its appeal as a cultural icon, making it an integral part of the city's dynamic arts scene. The hall also serves as a versatile venue for various events, including cultural performances and corporate functions. With its combination of architectural beauty, acoustic excellence, and a diverse range of performances, Dewan Filharmonik Petronas stands as a beacon of musical artistry in Malaysia.
